Ever feel really dumb?
Most embarrassing moment this week:
So, I wrecked my motorcycle Tuesday evening.
I was heading down First Ave, past our house and was going to Florida Tan.
Traffic was quite heavy as it was about 5:10. I was in the right lane, getting ready to turn right past the Wendy's.
I was a little concerned about the line of cars behind me, specifically the one coming up fast directly behind me, and was watching in my mirror. I tried to not slow down so much that it stopped the entire lane of cars, and therefore started to take the turn kind of wide. However, a car pulled out of the lot into the lane I would have been swinging wide into, so I couldn't go as wide as I had planned, but it was kind of too late.
Being already into the turn, about in the middle of the road, I had to brake hard, hit some loose gravel/pebbles that gather in the middle of the road and was almost to a complete stop when my back tire slid out and I basically fell over and slid a few feet.
I landed pretty much on my hip, which is sore, scraped the side of my right knee and elbow slightly. The mirror, passenger footpeg, front and rear turn signal extensions were scratched up. Also, the front turn signal bent in and slightly dented the gas tank.
Thankfully I did not have the work laptop with me and I wasn't wearing a helmet. It would have really sucked to have scratched my helmet.
