Delusional former president
Link to part 1 of video interview where Clinton claims he and his administration did more to "get" Bin Laden and came closer to "getting" him than anyone since.
Very good follow-up article here.
"Clinton always has been the one who, caught in a compromising position, would disarmingly ask, as the parody has it, "what are you going to believe, me or your own eyes?" His instinct for lying, even under oath, earned him the second presidential impeachment in American history." Ronald A. Cass

Upstairs bathroom
Sometimes I think my lovely wife prays that "issues" will arise that sort of force me into home-repair action. We have talked about and desired to get rid of the carpet in the bathroom off our bedroom for quite awhile and have known it would be our next project. I had told Jenny I didn't want to start until the weather started to turn cold. Well, the weather has started to turn, and the carpet in front of the toilet had started to be wet, and remain wet, and get wetter. Long story short, it was somehow leaking out the front and it was high time to get underway. Lo and behold (what does that mean anyway? I could probably find out at wikipedia, but I'm not that interested), the wood was rotting away from all the water underneath! Jenny is much better than me in knowing when we really should get these projects going... I'm often dragged into them kicking and screaming, which really isn't one of my most attractive tendencies. Anyway, it's the getting started that is the hardest part. I was able to cut away the rotten part, put in some cross braces and then put down a new board. (EVERYTHING I've ever done regarding home repair has been learned from my father-in-law, Don Mayer.)
Emily and Isaac helping procure supplies at Lowe's. Jenny and I wall-papered the bathroom after I repaired the hole in the floor.

Many, many thanks to Jeff Ossenberg for letting me borrow his tile saw. That made the measuring and cutting of the tiles actually, I hate to admit, almost... pleasant.

The hot-tub runneth
Ashly's dad was going to work in TN for awhile and said he didn't use his hot-tub very much, so he decided to GIVE it to us! Thanks to Rusty and Jamie and Scott and Anisa and Ashly we were able to move it over here - for free. Thanks to Shawn "you do all things well" Collins, the 220 electrical wiring has been run under the hizz-ouse and connected. Filled 'er up last night while measuring and cutting ceramic tile for the upstairs bathroom. It got sort of warm by around 11:30ish and Jenny and I tried it out for a bit. Not really warm enough, but neat. I checked it this morning and it's HOT! Just need to tape up a bolt in the pump and re-insert to stop a small leak and we should be in business.

Ashly's car window was broken by some turd
Thankfully they didn't try to steal anything or damage the inside of the car...they just broke the window and rolled on.

Just some stuff
Had some Sam's Club roast chicken, salad, bread for lunch. Yummy. (Jen and kids and Ashly had gone to Sam's for groceries and stuff.)
Tonight Jenny is hostessing a "TomBoy Tool Party" at our house. Laura is the sales rep/business owner/conspirator thingy. I'm taking the boys with me to Jason's house for some Madden 07 on PS2 and some pizza. Emily is hanging at the party since one of the girls from her martial arts class and her mom are coming to the tool party.
Saturday I'll mow if it doesn't rain, Jen has Mandi Drury's wedding to attend at 1:30 whilst I'll be taking the kids to Jacob's baseball game at 4:00 where I have to work in the concession booth! Fun times. May concoct a plan to go Sat. night on the motorcycle to see a movie or something if Ashly is cool with that. If not that, then I'd like to maybe start watching the LOTR movies again. (Currently still reading The Hobbit aloud to the kids and they are loving it.)
Sunday church, then probably fellowship with some folks at lunch after church, then we have a birthday party to attend at the Beck's for Zion's birthday at 4:30. Then home to hopefully watch a little NFL action. At some point in the near future, need to run wiring (don't know how, so I'm at the liberty of someone to help, Jen's Dad - used to be electrician - or someone else) for the hot tub to get it running. Also, need to tear up the carpet in the bathroom off our bedroom to prep and then put down ceramic tile flooring. Who knows when that will get done, currently there is no toilet in there and we have a shirt in a Target bag stuffed into the hole in the floor to prevent the lovely fumes from escaping their dark dungeon lair.

Labor Day 2006
Went to visit Marengo Cave and drove to see the view at the Overlook Restaurant. This is the response after I said "Ok, make a normal face..now.... GOLLUM'S BOTTOM!"
