Two Towers on PS2
Well, Joe had indicated quite a while ago that he'd mail me his copy of Two Towers for PS2 so's I could borry it for free. I'm supposing he's been too busy enjoying the Florida weather and fishing since I have yet to see the afore-promised copy. Hindsight tells me it was for the best: Jenny and the kids and I were at Sam's and found a copy for $17.95 and I decided to take the plunge. This game is great.
The animation from the game segue's beautifully into clips from the movie and vice versa. Many of the actors, including Viggo, Elijah and Ian recorded soundbites specifically for this video game, which I think is really cool. There are also interviews with some of the main actors - one showing Elijah Wood (who claims to be an avid "gamer") playing as Aragorn. This game is head and shoulders above LOTR and I would recommend it highly for anyone who is a fan of the movie.
Screen shot is supposed to be placed here (let's see if Jason's directions were written on the level of someone as slow as moi):
Check out Boromir - I wish the game would allow you to play as him during the mines of Moria in Balin's tomb - but it don't (incorrect grammar for emphasis.)
I've discovered that I shouldn't allow Jacob to play it with me, or rather watch me play the "final scene" of each segment until I've mastered certain victory. I was annihilated several times by the bad dude on the Warg before Jenny suggested a method that proved effective in defeating him. I had allowed Jacob to watch me play the first time I encountered the Warg-riders and let's just say he didn't like seeing Aragorn get his butt kicked. It did allow me, after turning the game off and calming him down, to discuss the fact that failure is not a bad thing - it allows us to determine, "Well, that method didn't work." and is useful in teaching us. I think he really understood that point, but still doesn't like to see Aragorn get eaten by a Warg.
