Starting the day
Awoke around 5:45, got ready, read The Weekly Standard as my hair gel froze, waiting for the car to dethaw - this took 20 minutes. Met the guys from Wild at Heart at Bob Evans.
Jeff Cazel challenged us to ensure we have an accountability or encouragement partner (other than spouse) during the 40 days of prayer. He made a good point that we need to pin it down, NOW, if we hadn't already. Decisions have a funny way of remaining unmade unless someone takes action. I told two of the guys that if they didn't already have someone holding them accountable that I would go to the highest bidder. Alan's reply was, "How 'bout them Patriots?", so Scott said, "Well, looks like it's me and you Todd." Scott and I agreed that Friday nights would be the time we ensure we obtain some focused, extended alone time with God for prayer - and that we would encourage one another during the week. Poor Scott.
Meeting with brothers for a time of fellowship in God's name really has a way of kicking the day off on a positive note.
1 Peter 1:22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart.
