Elephants good; Donkeys bad.

"Trash in - Trash out."

This truth made so much sense to me the first time I heard it. Yet, I have never really chosen to prevent the trash from entering through my eyes and ears.

Praise God for my wife and her attempts to be my helpmate. God joined us together and designed her to help me. She has taken the "trash in - trash out" truth seriously, while I have selfishly fulfilled the desires of the flesh.

I have recently committed to true obedience to God. This includes a covenant with my eyes to not look lustfully at any woman (see Job 31:1). In the book, "every man's battle", the authors describe how typical it is for many men, within a matter of seconds, to scan an entire room and notice every attractive woman. The authors lay out a line of defense against this habit by explaining how to "bounce" one's eyes from anyone or anything that we may find sexually attractive or stimulating. A very clear case is made indicating that the one and only source of any sexual gratification (visual, mental, physical...) must be our wife. This will be truth in my life and God is granting me victory in the bouncing my eyes battle.

Proverbs 5:18-19 May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe, a graceful deer, may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be captivated by her love.
