"My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only he will release my feet from the snare." Psalm 25:15
I need this to be fact in my life. As Scott Winslow talked about at CFC last Sunday, I definitely thirst for Jesus, to know him more, but I am so easily distracted with things of this world. It is my current hope, I wish I could say it is truly my desire, to "throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles."
Some other verses that are convicting me as of late:
"For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come." Hebrews 13:14
"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world - the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does - comes not from the Father but from the world." 1 John 2:15-16
"If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:26
